Easter Flowers
You may have noticed that flowers are very expensive in the stores lately. We are hoping that you may consider a donation to help us decorate the church for Easter. This Flower donation can also be in memory, an anniversary, or a birthday wish! If you would like to donate you can make the donation payable to St. Augustines’ Church on-line with Tithe.ly with a note “Easter flowers” or put a cheque in post mail or church mailbox with the same designation. Any amount will be appreciated, and this donation will be included on your tax receipt for this tax year.

Coffee!
For many years, St. Augustine's was sourcing its coffee from Blue's Java Bar where we had a strong connection with the owner. Unfortunatly, Blues' shut down for good last year and we are without a coffee source for the church! As an Anglican diocese, we are committed to using coffee with FairTrade certification. If you don't know, FairTrade certification is only given to companies that commit to fair treatment for its employees. They are visited on a regular basis to ensure these committments are being carried out. (learn more here: https://www.fairtradecertified.org/) Do you have a good source for FairTrade coffee? (both regular strength and decaf) Please let the office or our new Coffee Hour coordinator know. |

GARDEN SEASON 2022 KICK OFF!
While we still have snow to melt off - it is time to start planning the garden! This involves returning members confirming they will be back, and setting up our plans, hopes, and wishes for the year :) Our 2022 gardening season kickoff meeting is planned for April 24th, 7-8 pm at St. Augustine’s. It will be in person again - exciting! Until then, I hope your spring melt goes smoothly.

The World Press Photo Foundation announced the winners of the 2022 contestA powerful photo of dresses hanging on crosses along a roadside in Kamloops has won a prestigious international award. Edmonton freelance photographer Amber Bracken’s photo titled Kamloops Residential School was taken in June 2021, for the New York Times. The dresses and crosses lined the highway after 215 unmarked graves of children were discovered near the residential school. The dresses remained blowing in the wind for weeks as a tribute to the children who died at the school. |
