Diocese of Edmonton and Church of South India Ascension Parish Sign Agreement

On April 16, Bishop Stephen London welcomed the Rt Rev Dr Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, Bishop of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese, to the Diocese of Edmonton.

When it was formed in 1947, the Church of South India brought together four Christian denominations:  Anglican, Congregational, Presbyterian, and Methodist. It is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. In the Diocese of Edmonton, the CSI Ascension Parish meets at St. Augustine of Canterbury, Edmonton.

Participants in the agreement offer these reflections:

Acoustic Panel Upgrade for St A's Lower Hall

St A's is in the second phase of installing acoustic panelling in the Lower Hall as there was still a lot of echo, reverberation and background noise in the space.  We have had a quote and awaiting a timeframe for the work to be completed.

Hopefully this will improve the sound quality for all who utilise the space.

If anyone is able to contribute to the cost of this upgrade in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Service

Hosted by Grace United Church (6215 104 Ave) Sunday 3rd May at 3pm

We invite you to join us for a heartfelt gathering of remembrance and support as we honour experiences of pregnancy and infant loss, and remember the babies gone too soon.

This service is open to anyone who has been touched by pregnancy or infant loss, including parents of all genders, partners, family members, and friends.

This gentle, reflective service will include moments of remembrance, readings, and opportunities to honor your grief and those lives lost.

Whether your loss is recent or many years past, you are welcome to come as you are.

You are not alone. Together, we remember. Together, we heal.

If you wish, you may bring a photo, keepsake, or small item to place at our remembrance table.

Following the service, there will be an optional time for refreshments and conversation. Childcare will be provided.

All are welcome, no sign-up required, but if you want to let us know you’re planning to come, you can RSVP using the confidential form found here: https://forms.gle/v4zV1wcgAwaGs4vw9in  or contact the office.

National Red Dress Day

National Red Dress Day

Tuesday 5th May 2026

Red Dress Day 2026, held every May 5th, is a National Day of remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+). It began with the REDress Project, created by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2010. On this day, red dresses will be draped in trees, hanging from windows, pinned to jackets, worn as earrings and red hands painted across faces. People will be partaking in rallies and ceremonies to honour their loved ones, participating as allies and fighting for justice. - Amnesty International Canada
