Blessing of the Animals

Blessing of the Animals

Saturday 4th September - 3.30pm at St Augustine's

Blessing of the Animals will take place: *Saturday September 4th @ 3.30 pm on St. Augustine’s Anglican Church lawn.

Join us to mark the feast day of St. Francis to honor his care of creation and his understanding of God's work through all living things.

We share in a simple service reflecting on God's gift of life in the animals most close to us with a simple act of blessing and thanksgiving for their life.

Please bring any furry, scaley, or feathered friend that you give thanks for in your life to pray with and for them!  Please ensure your animal companion is on a leash or in a cage/crate/container/etc.  Alternatively, please feel free to bring a photo!  If you are remembering a beloved animal who has passed, you may also wish to bring a photo, as we will have a moment of silence to remember them too.

Decorating the Church for Harvest Thanksgiving

Decorating the Church for Harvest Thanksgiving

Are you able to help with donations for flowers or perhaps to bring in personal items from home?

On Saturday 11th October, the Altar Guild will be dressing up the church for the Harvest Celebration.

If you are able to make a donation for flowers / harvest style decorations this would be most welcome.

Alternatively, if you would like to bring something from home that symbolises Harvest that too would be welcome (fruits, vegetables, seasonal decorations / children's art)

Monetary donations can be made via e transfer, tithe.ly or cheque / cash.  Personal items may be dropped at the church on Saturday the 11th or arrangements for alternative drop off can be made via email to the church office.

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

A Zoom Event - Thursday afternoons 1.30pm - 2.45pm

Good news!   “Gathering” has resumed!!  You are invited to gather together  and enjoy these informal afternoons with friends as we explore and reflect on various aspects of our life of faith--and how this informs the choices we make as we encounter the important issues of today’s world.  This fall we will using Bishop Mariann Budde’s book “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith” to focus our time together.  I think Bishop Budde’s will lead us into some very interesting conversations.  We will also  include other topics of interest from time to time.

Handouts will be send out early each  week to help bring a focus to our conversation.

So bring your coffee or tea or “whatever” and gather around our virtual kitchen table.

If you have any questions or want more information, e-mail me at wildrosie7@gmail.com. Please feel free to invite a friend to join us via Zoom.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all each week.

Taizé Prayer at St. Augustine's

Taizé Prayer at St. Augustine's

Contemplative Ecumenical Prayer - Sunday, October 19th 2025

Taize prayer is a contemplative, musical, patient, and still act of worship that stems from the Taize monastic community in France.

There is a group in Edmonton that gathers monthly in this style of prayer across denominations and traditions.  We are blessed to host this beautiful gathering this October.  Please make it a priority to come!
