GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

A Zoom Event - Thursday afternoons 1.30pm - 2.45pm

Good news!   “Gathering” is resuming Thursday, September 18th!  You are invited to gather together  and enjoy these informal afternoons with friends as we explore and reflect on various aspects of our life of faith--and how this informs the choices we make as we encounter the important issues of today’s world.  This fall we will using Bishop Mariann Budde’s book “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith” to focus our time together.  I think Bishop Budde’s will lead us into some very interesting conversations.  We will also  include other topics of interest from time to time.

Handouts will be send out early each  week to help bring a focus to our conversation.

So bring your coffee or tea or “whatever” and gather around our virtual kitchen table.

If you have any questions or want more information, e-mail me at wildrosie7@gmail.com. Please feel free to invite a friend to join us via Zoom.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all each week.

Donor Support Needed for Traditional Approaches to Healing

Aaron Parker, a local musician, video producer and member of the Edmonton Anglican parishes of St. Augustine’s and St. George’s (where he leads music twice a month), has launched a website and crowdfunding appeal for Traditional Approaches to Healing (TATH), an Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton)-based initiative.

Started eight years ago, by Cree Elder Russell Auger in partnership with E4C, in response to the community's need for emotional and psychological healing, the circle group, now under the umbrella of the Lodgepole Communitas, meets year-round in eight-week cycles at St. Faith’s Anglican Church, 11725 93 ST NW, Edmonton.

Blood Moon Appears

Blood Moon Appears

Sunday 7th September 2025

On September 7, the sky will become magical as the most powerful lunar eclipse of the year, know as the Blood Moon, will occur.

The Earth's shadow will completely block the Sun's light on the Moon, turning it a bright red hue, as if a fiery ball were hanging in the dark sky.

This phenomenon will last for about 83 minutes; it will be visible in Canada with the best viewing opportunities will be on the western side of the country. While the eclipse itself is a phenomenon visible across a large part of the hemisphere, the exact visibility and optimal viewing times will depend on your specific location within Canada and local weather conditions.

The Blood Moon has always been a symbol of change, new beginnings, and letting go of the past.  It reminds us that even in the shadows, you can find unique beauty.
