Are You Creative? Here is Your Opportunity! Over the past four years I have had the privilege of creating and sending our Parish eNewsLetter. It has been enjoyable and satisfying experience each week and I believe it is a valuable tool that enables our community to stay up to date on the life of the parish. I have recently come to the realization that there may be someone else in our church community who may enjoy this ministry - who may have fresh ideas, who is just chomping at the bit to take on. Think about it? Does this sound like you? Are you curious of what this would entail? Are you looking forward a new challenge? If so, please call or text me (Barbara) or speak to Rev. Jonathan. |

Kokopelli Children's Choir Returns
Kokopelli Choir Association is thrilled to bring back its annual children’s choir showcase after a three-year absence. Song Quest returns to St. Andrew’s United Church (9915 148 Street NW) Saturday, April 30 at 1:00pm. “We’re so proud of our three youngest choirs,” says Kokopelli artistic director Scott Leithead. “Years ago, we started including a concert just for them. Of course, that’s all been on hold for the past couple of years—so, for some of these singers, it will be their first time ever in front of a live audience.” For details and tickets, visit kokopellichoirs.com/performances/upcoming-events. Attendance will be limited to allow adequate distancing, and masks will be required. For more information contact Tammy-Jo Mortensen, Operations Manager by email at tammy-jo@kokopellichoirs.com or by phone at 780-977-7295. |
Arctic AppealApril 27 Deadline for Non-Monetary Gifts Every year, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul North of 60 Project ships sea containers full of goods and supplies to nine northern and Arctic communities. This year's project includes a special request from the Anglican Church of the Resurrection in Ulukhaktok. For more information and to find out how you can help, see the list of goods requested below and two information sheets attached:
Linda Tutt is the contact person in St. Albert. During one of her visits, she recorded this video of the Ulukhaktok Anglican Lay Minister, David Kuptana expressing his gratitude to the North of 60 Project. St. Albert, AB is partnered with the hamlet of Ulukhaktok, located on Victoria Island in the Beaufort Sea. Ulukhaktok (pop 450) is only accessible by air and, for a few summer months, by sea. Once the St. Albert sea container is packed with food and necessities, in May and June, it is trucked with other containers, to Hay River. In July, the containers are loaded onto sea barges, which travel down the MacKenzie River to the Beaufort Sea, dropping off containers at communities along the way. Ulukhaktok’s sea barge arrives in the fall.
