The Process Continues ... and we need your views

The Search Committee has been formed.

The first Search Committee meeting was held on the 8th of March with the view to begin the process of putting together the Parish Profile.  This document will form the basis of the information that will be advertised to potential applicants.  Each person / group of people have taken responsibility for the various sections that will be included in the profile.

The Search Committee is quite large but, it is believed, each member will bring something valuable to the table. Members are:

Steve McAuley, Mikaela Hanley, Joe Sparling, Pat Jameson, Megan Crane, Christa McMillan, Amy Kellestine, Annie McKitrick, John Vandenbeld, John Hanley, Aaron Parker, Amanda McAuley. Cheryl Tyler and Israel Flesaker.

A survey has been created so that anyone can express their opinion on a number of sections that are included in the profile.  A link to complete this survey is below:

 https://forms.gle/MQ1BGmmwgRYB2iau8

Flip charts with the same questions (and markers) will be in the Lower Hall during Coffee Time this week and next, if anyone wishes to add their views in this manner, and Simone is going to use the questions to get input from attendees at Kids’ Church as well.

We look forward to hearing from as many parishioners as possible.

Edmonton's 46th Annual Good Friday Outdoor Way of the Cross - Good Friday, 3rd April 2026 @ 10am

"Whatsoever You Do: Seeing, Naming and Protecting the Rights of People as Part of Creation"

Start Location:  10821 - 96th Street, Sacred Heart Church

The Outdoor Way of the Cross is an ecumenical prayer event marking the suffering and death of Jesus.  It is a time to reflect on how the gospel values of Jesus apply to individual and public life today.  This year's theme is based on Matthew 25:40  "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

People of all faith traditions are welcome to attend.  The 1.5 kilometre walk is reasonable for most ages and ability levels.  Free street parking is available near the start location at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples.  A light lunch (soup, bannock, coffee and tea) will be provided at Sacred Heart Church after the final station.  Donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks are also welcome and can be dropped off at the start of the walk.

Sunshine Garden

Sunshine Garden

$20 + 1 hour a month for Membership
The Sunshine Garden has 37 raised garden beds of various sizes and heights for seniors, anyone with disabilities, young people, and children. There are currently four plots available for membership,

The Sunshine Garden exists to provide community, family, and new friendships along with opportunities for sharing experiences, knowledge, and showing youth how food grows. Along with environmental stewardship awareness about sustainable urban agriculture, the Garden supports healthy living, nutrition, and physical activity. Now is a good time to get a plot as the cost of food keeps rising.

We have the convenience of a composing station, rain water collection, a tool shed, and the bonus of some fresh fruit trees.

Garden meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the basement of St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 6110 Fulton Road. The next meeting is THIS WEDNESDAY March 18.

The other Wednesday of the month we meet at 6:30 p.m. at the garden. Our membership volunteer hours that are required help to maintain the garden appearance and friendships.
