This week we will be talking about the Beatitudes

the Beatitudes are Jesus's special blessings for being happy, like a "secret recipe for a good life," teaching that being humble, kind, merciful, and a peacemaker makes you truly blessed and brings you closer to God, promising amazing rewards like heaven and seeing God for those who live this way. They're not about having lots of stuff, but about having a good heart, helping others, and standing up for what's right, even when it's hard.

Hoping to see all St A's youth this Sunday.

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE

A Zoom Event - Thursday afternoons 1.30pm - 2.45pm

Good news!   “Gathering” has resumed!!  You are invited to gather together  and enjoy these informal afternoons with friends as we explore and reflect on various aspects of our life of faith--and how this informs the choices we make as we encounter the important issues of today’s world.  This fall we will using Bishop Mariann Budde’s book “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith” to focus our time together.  I think Bishop Budde’s will lead us into some very interesting conversations.  We will also  include other topics of interest from time to time.

Handouts will be send out early each  week to help bring a focus to our conversation.

So bring your coffee or tea or “whatever” and gather around our virtual kitchen table.

If you have any questions or want more information, e-mail me at wildrosie7@gmail.com. Please feel free to invite a friend to join us via Zoom.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all each week.

Brittany Bloemmart in Concert

Brittany Bloemmart in Concert

Saturday, January 31, 2026

We welcome you to the first ACW-hosted concert of 2026! Throughout the year, the women of Good Shepherd Anglican Church reach out to local musicians, choirs, and artists to provide concerts for the whole community. Tickets are sold by donation, and can be purchased at the door on a first come-first served basis.

On January 31, the ACW proudly presents the incredibly talented Brittany Bloemmart in her second performance at Good Shepherd. Coffee and treats will be provided.

ACW concert nights are a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family in an affordable way. We look forward to sharing Brittany's vocal talent with our neighbours! Funds raised help support parish events and outreach programs like YESS.

Taking the Wild Paths of Peace - A Lent Devotional by the Anglican delegate to the UN

Taking the Wild Paths of Peace - A Lent Devotional by the Anglican delegate to the UN

Discover a path of peace amidst chaos, with Jesus as our guide - beginning Ash Wednesday (18th February 2026)

Wild Paths of Peace, written by Martha Jarvis, explores the unexpected hope of peacemaking at time of conflict in the world and in our personal lives. As the Anglican Communion’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Jarvis works to create partnerships between churches and UN teams as they respond to conflict, climate change and forced movement of people. Jarvis has also facilitated church-led peacemaking in South Sudan and Mozambique. Throughout it all, she’s seen nothing that compares to the power of people coming back together after conflict, and ultimately, coming back to faith through Jesus.

St. A’s is getting a kitchen refresh !!!!!!!!!!!

St. A’s is getting a kitchen refresh !!!!!!!!!!!

It has been confirmed, with the painting contractor, that the kitchen and cabinets, inside and out, will be painted Wednesday and Thursday, February 4 &5 .

To prepare for this, we will need to empty all cupboards, drawers, and cabinets Sunday, February 1st, after coffee.   To accomplish this we are asking for as much help as possible.  Help will also be required to replace items on Sunday February 15th.

Sandy, Rita and Randy will be coordinating this project - if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Randy will install the new light fixtures and bulletin board after painting is completed.

Solar Panel Update

Solar Panel Update

The work has begun to complete the solar panel project at St A's

Panels were assembled on the church roof first, late November / December, as they needed to do this before the roof became slippery due to ice/snow.

They had to finish other projects that had a grant deadline of the end of year so the annex panels and hook up were set back until January of this year.

On Tuesday, January 6th, the solar contractors had the power off at the church for the day to hook up the system.  From the 7th they have been working on the annex roof installing the remaining panels .. they have been working every day and hope to complete installation and have things up and running soon.

Awaiting a quote

At the end of December Icon Elevator Company visited St Augustine's to explore ways of making the elevator doors easier to open .. as they are very heavy!!!

After attempting adjustments of the mechanism that opens / closes the door, which did not prove fruitful, it has been decided that a button, for automatic opening would be the best option.

We are now awaiting a quote from the company and, hopefully, work will start soon on completing this much needed update to our current elevator system.
