Summer Schedule Continues ...10am service only Summer is our church Sabbath time. The 8am services will resume in the autumn the Sunday after the Labor Day long weekend. Liturgically, we are in "the Season after Pentecost": it is the time of the Spirit. |

St A's is participating, once again, in preparing lunches for the Bissell Centre!Our date is Sunday August 23rd 2026 St A's is participating in the lunch programme run by the Sanctuary of Peace (formerly the Inner City Pastoral Mission) who provide an interdenominatonal Christian Ministry of Presence, guided by the Spirit of God and walk in partnership with Edmonton's Inner City Community. This year we have been asked to provide 100 lunch bags and deliver them to the Bissell Centre on Sunday August 23rd (we are partnered with St Luke's who will also supply 100 lunch bags)! If you are able to provide any of the items below please let the office know via email. If you are unable to purchase any items yourself but wish to provide a monetary donation to help obtain the listed items this would be most welcome. June Greig has also compiled an in person sign up sheet for donating items in kind. ** 42 bags of chips have been purchased ** 50 pieces of cheese have been purchased ** water has been purchased ** Chicken/Tuna/Peanut Butter packs have been purchased ** Coffee, Sugar and Creamer have been purchased Each lunch bag will contain the following items (we will need 100 of each item in total): 1 bottle of water 1 bottle of boost protein drink 1 juice boxes (pure juice) 1 cheese strings or individually wrapped pieces of cheese Wrapped breakfast bar (ie Cliff, Vector, Bear Paw) OR protein bar (not small granola bars) Peanut butter & crackers / cheese & crackers / tuna & crackers / chicken & crackers (these packs can be found at any supermarket but best prices are Walmart or Superstore) 1 bag of regular sized bags (28g) potato chips/Doritos/Cheezies 1 orange and 1 banana. ** these will need to be bought as close to the date of delivery as possible. Items will be placed in a large ziplock bag so we need 100 1 large can of ground coffee 1 x 4kg bag of sugar 1 cannister of powdered creamer (1kg or larger) Additional personal hygiene items requested: Toothbrushes, small toothpaste, shampoo, lotion Food items can be delivered to the church or church office; monetary donations can be made via e transfer to office@staugustinesedmonton.com, via cheque dropped/posted into the office or the collection plate or via tithe.ly online. Please do not hand money directly to an individual for donation purposes. We will also require volunteers to make up the lunchbags - if you are able to help on Saturday 22nd August (time to be confirmed) please let Cheryl in the office know. Volunteers to deliver our completed lunch bags to the Bissell Centre on the 23rd between 8.15 and 8.30am are also required. If anyone is able to help in this capacity please let the office know as soon as possible via email at office@staugustinesedmonton.com. Volunteer Opportunity: Community Breakfast
All Saints' Cathedral (10035 103 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0X5) is looking for individuals interested in serving the wider community on Thursday mornings in October-March, from 8 am to 10 am, through our community breakfast ministry. Ministry includes preparing and serving breakfast and providing a warm, safe space for the community to gather throughout the cold months of the year.

Volunteer Opportunity: Spiritual CareCapitalCare is seeking compassionate volunteers to support the spiritual and emotional well-being of residents in long-term care. Volunteers may spend time visiting residents, offering companionship, listening to life stories, supporting spiritual practices when appropriate, or simply helping someone feel seen and connected. Volunteers from a variety of faith traditions, as well as those comfortable supporting people of different or no religious backgrounds, are welcome. This is a meaningful opportunity to build relationships, learn from the wisdom of older adults, and help residents remain connected to the greater Edmonton community. Office NotesSummer Office Hours The office is open to callers on Monday & Thursday mornings from 9am to 1pm (excluding Monday bank holidays) Phone messages are picked up on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Email messages are picked up every second to third day. During periods of extreme heat, office hours are reduced as the space gets more than warm even with the fans going!! |
