Adults are $10 / children 12 and under free

Cash, debit & credit payments are accepted.

All are welcome!! Please bring a friend if you know someone who might appreciate a warm meal and companionship.

The closing date for the position of full time rector at St A's has closed.

We expected to receive from the Bishop by Friday 11th September, however there was a delay.

Applications were forwarded to the parish yesterday, Friday 18th September and delivered to members of the Search Committee.

The Search Committee will be meeting on Sunday 20th September to begin reviewing applicants.

Good News, everyone!! "Gathering" is resuming Thursday, September 24th!!

Gathering is a Zoom Event

Thursday afternoons 1.30pm - 2.45pm

You are invited to gather together and enjoy these informal afternoons with friends as we explore and reflect on various aspects of our life of faith--and how this informs the choices we make as we encounter the important issues of today’s world.

Handouts will be send out early each week to help bring a focus to our conversation.

So bring your coffee or tea or “whatever” and gather around our virtual kitchen table.

Simple Supper 2026 - 2027

Simple Supper is a community meal served in the St A's Lower Hall. It is a home cooked meal and dessert, along with tea, coffee and juice / punch.

Simple Supper is volunteer run, with people chipping in where possible.

This year I am looking for volunteers interested in helping with the dishes / clean up each month. It is a big job, so I am hopping to have 3 people come and enjoy the meal then stay to help clean up afterwards.

If you believe that you are able to help on one or more of the nights, I will write your name down and create a schedule for this year's Simple Supper Season.

St Augustine's book club meets the last Tuesday of each month(except December, July and August) in the narthex or the downstairs lounge of the church at 10:30 am.

You are welcome to join our lively discussions followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Our book list is choosen in June from suggestions from members.

Read a book from the list, join the conversation, go for lunch.

St A's Youth Group

in partnership with St George's Anglican Church

The Youth Group meets twice monthly, once at St George's Anglican in Windsor Park and once at St A's.

The general meeting plan involves playing some ice-breaker "party games", such as large group board games, for 15 - 30 minutes. Then everyone can get a cup of tea or a glass of lemonade, some snacks (chips or popcorn) and gather together as a large group or a couple of smaller groups to learn and discuss topics from the Bible about our faith or relationship with God.

We then have small group discussion or activities where the youth can explore and respond to their own feelings about what we learned and discussed. This has taken the form of putting on short skits, writing our own prayers and decorating a notebook in our own style. We then come together and offer the chance for everyone to share, if they would like.

We close the evening by praying together, inviting the youth to contribute to the contents of our prayers, which have included, school, friends, family, the world, ourselves and others.

We break from this regular plan about every 4th meeting when we have a "fun night" which has included bringing and sharing board games, pizza making, gingerbread house construction and going for a hike.

St Augustine's Leadership Team is changing this fall

Stephen McAuley will be stepping back from his position as Rector's Steward in October. At this time, Anita Slomp will take over as Interim Rector's Steward.

As the Rector's Steward is appointed by the incumbent, Anita's position will be renewed in conversation with the new rector.

We are grateful for Steve's leadership, especially during the search process, and we wish him and Amanda all the best as they welcome their new baby.

Help Give Buyé Families Access to Medical Care

Help Give Buyé Families Access to Medical Care

Every year in September, the Diocese of Edmonton raises money to purchase medical cards for households in our partner diocese in Burundi

Each $5 we raise gives an adult and all children in their care access to medical care and 80% off medical bills for a year. Many of these households are led by grandmothers caring for orphaned grandchildren. They survive by subsistence farming and often can’t afford necessities. The Diocese of Buyé has identified access to medical cards as the most pressing need in the communities they serve. In 2025, we raised enough to provide life-changing medical care to 1451 households. Let’s keep it up!

You can donate in September at your church and on our website. There are no administration fees, so 100% of your gift goes directly to families in need.

Deacons to Collect Winter Gear at Synod

This year, at the Diocesan Synod in October, the deacons will have an outreach table to collect items for our ecumenical inner-city ministry, the Sanctuary of Peace. Please encourage your church to collect items and drop them off (or send them with a Synod delegate) at All Saints' Cathedral on Friday, October 23, beginning at 5:00 pm.

Here is the list of winter needs from the Sanctuary of Peace:

Men’s and women’s gloves or mittens
Toques in black or grey
Men’s and women’s long underwear
‘Hot Shots’ or some other brand of warming inserts for boots and gloves

We ask that you send items in muted shades of grey or black as much as possible, as that is the preference of our friends on the street. Please avoid brightly coloured knit items.

Grief Share Programme

Tuesday afternoons 1:00-3:00 pm starting September 15th and ending December 8. Located in the Sunshine Room (downstairs) at Grace United Church (6215 104 Ave Edmonton Alberta).

The GriefShare Program is a 13 week Christian based video and workbook based program that discusses the stages of grief and helps you move through your journey.

You can come to all sessions or a few. Videos available online if you are unable to come to every session.

Facilitators from Grace United Church will be there to watch the videos with you and guide group discussions. All discussions are confidential.
