Soup and Bun Dinner for the COVID Public Memorial and MealOn All Souls Day - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022
Dear friends, You are invited to a public memorial rememberin g all those we have lost during COVID. Many of us have had friends, colleagues, and family members who have died during the pandemic and who did not receive the mourning and ceremony a death requires in community. We will address these realities, in community and in prayer, on All Souls Day - a traditional time of remembering those who have recently become our ancestors. We will pray together and, by lighting a candle, or laying a stone, we will remember those who have died. Following our time of prayer, all are welcome for a simple soup and bun supper in our lower hall. COVID Public Memorial and Meal RSVPs appreciated, but not required, at rector@staugustinesedmonton.com For more infomation visit: http://staugustinesedmonton.com/events/covid-public-memorial-and-meal/2022-11-02

Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation (GANG)
The GANG held another very successful fund raiser last Saturday and we would like to take this opportunity to thank St.A's for the on-going support and encouragement we receive from you, our parish family. As many of you know, GANG is an acronym for Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation. Our main purpose is to raise funds to assist African Grandmothers who are raising their orphaned grandchildren whose parents have died from Aids. There are several GANG members in our congregation and we are all very active in various areas of this wonderful organization. For more information on GANG their website is https://edmgrandmothers.org/ Lauretta Howard For more infomation visit: http://staugustinesedmonton.com/news/grandmothers-of-alberta-for-a-new-generation-gang |

Welcome Zoll AED to st. A's!
Medical events come unexpectedly Having an AED available within a minute can increase recovery from a heart event by a huge amount. We are happy to welcome to St. A's this new AED in the narthex by the elevator. If it is needed, the only instruction for use is: PUSH THE ON BUTTON AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. There is a small screen that will show you what to do and how to do it. This version of the AED actually measures heart function and adjusts the needed program as required. The process always begins with CPR to get the heart moving until the heart is ready to be shocked. A 5 minute instruction video is here: https://youtu.be/Mrhb52fR3p8 Watching it could help save the life of a fellow parishioner.
