Memorial GardenUpdate Work has begun on the construction of our Memorial Garden in the area just north of the front steps. Lattice work has been installed below the ramp to act as a backdrop, and a low stone wall is scheduled to be built during the last week of September. The many gardeners in our community are busy imagining what best to grow and where it should all go. For more infomation visit:

Wednesday Night Sharing CircleWednesday, September 7, 2022 Sharing in circle has a long history of transformation and community strength in both indigenous and addictions recovery traditions. Sharing in circle allows us both opportunity to listen, and when our turn arrives, to speak. A topic is raised each Wednesday in the realms of Faith, Justice, Spirituality, and Action in the Christian tradition that we are invited to reflect on and share if we wish. Rev. Jonathan usually facilitates the circle. Please contact him for the zoom access: rector@staugustinesedmonton.com We have used books, video, or individual presentations as our 'prompts' for the evening. "Doors" open at 7:45pm, process begins at 8pm-9pm. The zoom stays on until 9:30pm latest for those who want to chat more.

Update Note on Donna BuchananA long time and much loved parishioner of St. A's from her son, Don Buchanan Hello and heartfelt thanks to everyone from St. Augustine’s for their caring concern about Donna, over the last several months. This note will give you a quick update about Donna, and the latest visiting protocols at Jubilee Lodge. ~ For access (if visiting), go to the North entrance (main floor) of Jubilee Lodge by the North parking lot and wheelchair ramp. ~The sliding/automatic door is locked, but there is a keypad for entry. ~ Press 167* on the keypad and door will open. (Please keep this code confidential.) If any door/access problems arise, you can call the front desk for help: 780-469-4456. ~Then sanitize hands, put on a fresh mask at this entrance. (Covid protocols include wearing the fresh mask at all times.) After that, you pass through a second sliding door (it will open when you advance) and then Sign-in to the Visitor’s log book which is on a table beside the door. Donna is in a semi-private room on the 2nd Floor, Room 2207. (Any staff member can help point you in the right direction.) Suggested best times to visit are mid-morning (about 10.30 or 11), or mid-afternoon (between 1pm to 3pm). You are welcome to visit Donna in her room for a sit/chat. Donna cannot walk independently, so ask an on-duty Health Care aide for personal assistance as needed, e.g., if Donna agrees, the aide can help get her into a wheelchair to go for a short wheel to a lounge area or perhaps outside (via the wheelchair ramp on north side) to some outdoor benches located at the front of the building (west side). We have found all of the management and daytime staff to be truly supportive and caring at all times; we are thankful that Donna is getting the best possible day-to-day care. Feel free to call my number below. If I miss your call, I will get back to you. Don Buchanan 587.785.9589 (mobile) |
