Annual No Room in the Inn2025 Christmas Campaign - WIN House The No Room in the Inn campaign this year will help to bring much-needed safety improvements to a play space at WIN House. About WIN House: WIN House provides a safe haven for women and children fleeing violence in the Edmonton area. They offer temporary accommodation, nutritious meals, and valuable assistance in navigating support systems. WIN House caters to a diverse range of individuals, providing wrap-around services for long-term success and sustainability. WIN House EMPOWERS women to not only escape violence but to thrive in their new futures! WIN House supports their clients' entire journeys, from crisis to a safe and sustainable exit from shelter. WIN House is seeing results, including a 66% increase in residents moving into their own homes and a 50% decrease in transfers to other shelters. These are not just statistics, but changed lives. This year’s WIN House project funds much-needed safety improvements to one of the shelter’s backyard playground spaces, due to a recent inspection that deemed the surface unsafe. The current rubber surface also poses challenges for children and caregivers who use mobility devices, making it difficult to navigate safely. This playground is vital to the families we support, as many feel unsafe going out in public due to the traumatic situations they are escaping. Creating a secure, welcoming play space on-site offers them a crucial opportunity to experience joy, safety, and dignity without fear. These upgrades will create a more inclusive playground for young children and those with mobility or sensory needs. To donate by cheque, enter "No Room in the Inn" in the memo line and drop into the offering basket, drop into the church office or donate via e-transfer or tithe.ly. All donations will be forwarded to WIN house. |

Blue Christmas ServiceSaturday 21st December 2025 at Grace United Church - Please come for as much or as little time as you need to nourish your spirit. The arrival of Advent and Christmas can evoke deep memories and strong emotions - not always those of joy or happiness. The swirl of activity and excitement can, at times, seem overwhelming. You may long to acknowledge change, loss or health challenges; you may long for a moment of quiet and contemplation; you may long for the opportunity to reflect on lives, families, the year just passed, the year approaching. Held on the winter solstice, this service invites us into the sacred space of the longest night of the year. Feel welcome to bring your troubles, cares or concerns; your anger, anguish or sorrow; your uncertainty or confusion. You will find a calm and quiet place to set them aside, or to examine and consider them. 6:00-7:00pm Reflective music, contemplation and candle lighting (come and go as needed). 7:00pm Blue Christmas Service (the service will be live-streamed, with every effort made to respect congregant privacy and not show congregants on camera.)
After the service: A time of conversation and refreshments will be held downstairs in the Sunshine Room.
All Welcome
