GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLEA Zoom Event - Thursday afternoons 1.30pm - 2.45pm Good news! “Gathering” has resumed!! You are invited to gather together and enjoy these informal afternoons with friends as we explore and reflect on various aspects of our life of faith--and how this informs the choices we make as we encounter the important issues of today’s world. This fall we will using Bishop Mariann Budde’s book “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith” to focus our time together. I think Bishop Budde’s will lead us into some very interesting conversations. We will also include other topics of interest from time to time. Handouts will be send out early each week to help bring a focus to our conversation. So bring your coffee or tea or “whatever” and gather around our virtual kitchen table. If you have any questions or want more information, e-mail me at wildrosie7@gmail.com. Please feel free to invite a friend to join us via Zoom. I'm looking forward to seeing you all each week. Anne+

No Room in the Inn2025 Campaign - WIN House The No Room in the Inn campaign this year will help to bring much-needed safety improvements to a play space at WIN House. About WIN House: WIN House provides a safe haven for women and children fleeing violence in the Edmonton area. They offer temporary accommodation, nutritious meals, and valuable assistance in navigating support systems. WIN House caters to a diverse range of individuals, providing wrap-around services for long-term success and sustainability. WIN House EMPOWERS women to not only escape violence but to thrive in their new futures! WIN House supports their clients' entire journeys, from crisis to a safe and sustainable exit from shelter. WIN House is seeing results, including a 66% increase in residents moving into their own homes and a 50% decrease in transfers to other shelters. These are not just statistics, but changed lives. This year’s WIN House project funds much-needed safety improvements to one of the shelter’s backyard playground spaces, due to a recent inspection that deemed the surface unsafe. The current rubber surface also poses challenges for children and caregivers who use mobility devices, making it difficult to navigate safely. This playground is vital to the families we support, as many feel unsafe going out in public due to the traumatic situations they are escaping. Creating a secure, welcoming play space on-site offers them a crucial opportunity to experience joy, safety, and dignity without fear. These upgrades will create a more inclusive playground for young children and those with mobility or sensory needs. To donate by cheque, enter "No Room in the Inn" in the memo line and drop into the offering basket, drop into the church office or donate via e-transfer or tithe.ly. All donations will be forwarded to WIN house. |
