Volunteers needed for the Soup and Bun Dinner for the COVID Public Memorial and MealOn All Souls Day - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 Volunteers are required to organize the Soup and Bun dinner on Wednesday, November 2. It requires making soup for approximately 50-60 people and puchasing of food etc as well as setup, serving and cleanup. office@staugustinesedmonton.com Dear friends, You are invited to a public memorial rememberin g all those we have lost during COVID. Many of us have had friends, colleagues, and family members who have died during the pandemic and who did not receive the mourning and ceremony a death requires in community. We will address these realities, in community and in prayer, on All Souls Day - a traditional time of remembering those who have recently become our ancestors. We will pray together and, by lighting a candle, or laying a stone, we will remember those who have died. Following our time of prayer, all are welcome for a simple soup and bun supper in our lower hall. COVID Public Memorial and Meal RSVPs appreciated, but not required, at rector@staugustinesedmonton.com For more infomation visit: http://staugustinesedmonton.com/events/covid-public-memorial-and-meal/2022-11-02

Welcome Zoll AED to st. A's!
Medical events come unexpectedly Having an AED available within a minute can increase recovery from a heart event by a huge amount. We are happy to welcome to St. A's this new AED in the narthex by the elevator. If it is needed, the only instruction for use is: PUSH THE ON BUTTON AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. There is a small screen that will show you what to do and how to do it. This version of the AED actually measures heart function and adjusts the needed program as required. The process always begins with CPR to get the heart moving until the heart is ready to be shocked. A 5 minute instruction video is here: https://youtu.be/Mrhb52fR3p8 Watching it could help save the life of a fellow parishioner. GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE
Come and enjoy a relaxing time of conversation as we reflect together on excerpts from Alice Fryling’s wise and readable book "Aging Faithfully". We will also consider passages from other sources which, I trust, will add to the richness our conversation. Thursday 1:30 - 2:45 p.m.

Update - $5 Coffee Fundraiser for Medical Care Coverage in Buyé DioceseWe raised $75 for this fundraiser The Rev. John Gee, our diocesan treasurer at the synod office, sends 100% of the donations collected from all parishes directly to the Diocese of Buyé. There are no administrative fees. In 2018, the Edmonton diocese began raising funds through parish coffee collections for women and children in need of medical care to purchase medical cards in our companion Diocese of Buyé. Throughout the month of September, St. A's had a separate collection basket dedicated to this fundraiser. Thank you to all who donated.
