Blessing of the AnimalsShared with Grace United - Sunday, October 2, 2022 Join us to mark the feast day of St. Francis to honor his care of creation and his understanding of God's work through all living things. We gather across the street at Fulton park 4pm (Rain out we will meet Monday at 4pm). We share in a simple service reflecting on God's gift of life in the animals most close to us with a simple act of blessing and thanksgiving for their life. Please bring any furry, scaley, or feathered friend that you give thanks for in your life to pray with and for them! Please ensure your animal companion is on a leash or in a cage/crate/container/etc. Alternatively, please feel free to bring a photo! If you are remembering a beloved animal who has passed, you may also wish to bring a photo, as we will have a moment of silence to remember them too. We are pleased this year to be sharing this event with our neighbours Grace United Church |

$5 Coffee Fundraiser for Medical Care Coverage in Buyé DioceseThroughout the month of September, we will have a separate collection basket dedicated to this fundraiser. In 2018, the Edmonton diocese began raising funds through parish coffee collections for women and children in need of medical care to purchase medical cards in our companion Diocese of Buyé. Last year, a total of $6,600 was raised by parishes, enabling 1,320 women to purchase $5-medical cards which cover 80 per cent of their medical costs for one year. Access to healthcare is otherwise out of reach for most people living in Burundi. Throughout the month of September, St. A's will have a separate collection basket dedicated to this fundraiser. Please give generously. All are invited to give at least $5. With your help, people in Buyé will have access to the medical coverage they require but often can’t afford. The Rev. John Gee, our diocesan treasurer at the synod office, sends 100% of the donations collected from all parishes directly to the Diocese of Buyé. There are no administrative fees. |

GATHERING AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE
Come and enjoy a relaxing time of conversation as we reflect together on excerpts from Alice Fryling’s wise and readable book "Aging Faithfully". We will also consider passages from other sources which, I trust, will add to the richness our conversation.
