SIMPLE SUPPER REMINDER – FRIDAY, January 25th bring a friend and enjoy a delicious meal and great conversation.

 

AGM – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH – FOLLOWING 10 AM SERVICE.  *There are positions open for warden, treasurer, and vestry member at large.  Please let Rev. Crane know if you are interested.

 

TUESDAY AT BLU’S – Please join us for conversation and fellowship. We usually meet on the first and third Tuesday mornings of the month.  Next meeting – Tuesday, February 05, 2019 at 10:00 am.

BOOK CLUB – Meets the last Tuesday of the month in the Church Lounge at 10:30 am.

Lenten Quiet Day– Monday, Feb. 25 from 9:00 to 1:00.

Parish Silent Retreat– Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2 (More information to come)

Reminder to book any space you need at the church through the church office, so it can be checked against the master calendar.

The church office is open Monday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 and Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 2:00.  Any mail for the office? Please drop it in the office mailbox (in the other building), or in the ‘Admin’ mailbox downstairs.  There is also a form for cheque requisitions if you have receipts to submit for payment.

POLITICS OF FAITHFULNESS – a diocesan event in preparation for the two upcoming elections.  What do we say to political candidate at the door?  How does our Christian faith connect to the public good?  Feb 16, 1-5pm @ St. Matthias.  RSVP to the synod office by Feb 13th.

L’ARCHE COMMUNITY CENTRE – Fulton Place School – Tuesday, February 5th at 7:00 pm.   Welcomes Michael McDonald, International author and recipient of an Academy of American Poets prize – his short films have aired on TV in Canada, France etc.  FREE to all – donations of choice are welcome.   See poster on NB

 

HOLY TRINITY – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH AT 11:00 AM – Clark Hardy presentation on “Social Justice & Trinitarian Theology” – 30-minute lecture followed by 30 minutes of discussion.  Refreshments provided.

 

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER – FRIDAY, MARCH 1 @ 7:00 PM – Assumption Church, 9034 – 95 Avenue.  Service prepared by “women of Slovenia”. Planning meeting Wed. Jan 30 @ 1:00 pm. All are welcome.

*COMMUNITY MURAL PREPARATION EVENTS – hosted jointly by St. A’s and the Community Garden to be held February 23rd and March 9th.  Save the dates, the wider community will be invited.  Applications for funding for the mural are already underway!

Sound Opportunity – Wednesday evenings at 7 pm www.sing4me.ca

GANG – Grandmothers of Alberta for a New Generation (GANG) works with the Stephen Lewis Foundation to support African grandmothers raising their grandchildren because of AIDS.  An awareness, advocacy and fundraising group.

Education for Ministry – Thursday nights – a four- year certificate in theology.

GEA-Greater Edmonton Alliance – organization of Faith Groups, Unions, Community Action Groups and Small Businesses ‘organizing for the common good’ to give the public a voice in decision making that affects their lives.
